Greener NHS

Climate change threatens the foundations of good health, with direct and immediate consequences for our patients, the public and the NHS. The situation is getting worse, with 9 out of the 10 hottest years on record occurring in the last decade.

Taking action to reduce harmful carbon emissions will save lives and improve health, now and for future generations. Air  pollution is the single greatest environmental threat to human health in the UK, accounting for 1 in 20 deaths. Reducing emissions will contribute to reducing our admissions of cases of asthma, cancer and heart disease.

To help strive to achieve these targets we use digital systems at our clinics including software and communications, digital x-rays and intra-oral scans. We encourage our staff to reduce our energy consumption, reuse and recycle wherever we can, and to walk, cycle or use public transport.

You too can contribute by adopting greener practices. To learn more visit this link.
