World Cancer Day is on the 4 February. It is an international initiative to encourage the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. You can get involved by joining various activities to help raise awareness and funds. Learn more about World Cancer Day Here

Did you know that the incidence of Oral (mouth) Cancer has increased over the years especially in young people.

Oral Cancer can be life threatening if it is not detected and treated early. Signs and symptoms may include:

  • A sore that does not heal or bleed.
  • A growth or a lump in the mouth or the skin.
  • Loose teeth.
  • A sore tongue.

Causes can include:

  • A weak immune system.
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
  • Alcohol and tobacco use.
  • Excessive exposure to sunlight.

Our staff at the Orthodontic Centres are trained to straighten teeth as well as to detect and and offer advice to our patients about Oral Cancer.
